How to use Function Keys?
Use of Function Keys
Step1: Set Function Mode-
NAC3000 can be used for Access control or it can be used for Time &
Attendance purpose along with Access Control, depending on the application u can
select mode.
In Access Control mode u cannot use the Function keys. If u want to use the
Function keys u will have to set the NAC3000 in T&A mode.
Function Keys "F1,F2,F3 & F4" can be used in NAC3000. For using these
function keys u will have to use the TimeScan in T&A mode. The following procedure
is used for setting the NAC3000 in T&A mode.
- Press the Menu key on the keypad of NAC3000.
- Go to 5th option called as "System Option".
- In 5th option go to "Function Mode".
- In that select the mode as T&A press enter."Success" message will appear in the LCD screen. This indicates that the change has been updated in the terminal as well as server database.
- Step2: How should I define the Function Keys?
Function keys can be used in order to track the status of a perticular user. Like
when he punched F1/F3= IN; when he punched F2/F4= OUT ; when he went out for Personal /Official work/Lunch and return back.
This is possible, but for this u will have to define the use of these function keys
and make it avaliable to all the users so that users of TimeScan can use the
keys according to the definations set by u.
Note:These definations are to be set manually and should be displayed in fornt of the user .No software or hardware settings are avaliable for the same.
For Example I will set one defination for my users as follows:
- Press F1 key when punching in the morning when u reach the office.
- Press F2 key when u r going out for Official/Personal work/Lunch in office hours.
- Press F3 key while returning back from the Official/personal Work/Lunch in office hours.
- Press F4 key while punching OUT after the completion of Office hours.
- After pressing Function Keys the logs will be generated. When u download these logs in RM software u will find that in "Authentication Log" list window the colomn named as "Function Code" will display the function key used by the user .
